Where will your situation fit in?
1. On Site Preservation
- Structure is owned and maintained by The Foundation
in its original location.
- Structures that are preserved on their original site will
stand as a testament to the past.
- The On-site preservation program provides an immediate tax
advantage based on the appraised value of the structure. Donated
buildings will be preserved where they stand. The Foundation
may use these structures to generate rental income, to store
other rescued structures, and to educate others through local
tours. A lifetime lease of the grounds will be entered into by
the parties offering tax advantages into the future.
2. Dismantle and Relocate to Local Preserve
- Structure will be fully dismantled and moved
to a living history museum in the making.
- We are creating a living history museum of an early American
crossroads or farming community, for future generations to admire.
3. Dismantle and Offer for Sale
as a Kit
- As a fundraising effort, some structures will
be offered for sale to other historic enthusiasts after they
are carefully documented, tagged and assembled for rebuild.
- Even a company with our enthusiasm has limits. We can't possibly
restore every structure of historic significance. Many times
it isn't possible to leave the structures standing on site. One
of our fundraising approaches is to offer for sale the structures
after they have been dismantled, documented, photographed, field
sketched and assembled into a "kit" for rebuilding.
- We encounter many, many individuals who are willing to do
a little extra to save a piece of history. To those people, we
offer our dismantled structures and consulting services.
4. Demolition & Salvage
- When buildings are in serious disrepair, we remove
the structure from the site, salvaging architectural elements
and providing a complete demolition service. Other types of demolition
jobs are actively pursued to raise funds for restoration of other
structures.
