Lost Structures
1. Whites Mill
Despite the interest and support of local citizens trying to
rescue White's Mill, The Mill was demolished by the township
on July 24, 2001, (Tuesday) - so so sad. Here are the supporting
materials for the activities undertaken by The Foundation in
an attempt to preserve the structure. Unfortunately, both we
and the community lost.

Supervisors' questions.
2. Boyertown House (Demolished 2/2002)
Here at the FHBR, we have a soft spot for nice little vernacular
buildings and this one was no exception. This circa 1830's house
was formerly located along Rt. 73 near Boyertown, PA. Often times
in the world of Historic Preservation, High-Style houses get
the spotlight and vernacular buildings get overlooked. The common
buildings of our past are just as worthy and tell an important
story of how we once lived. One hopes that these structures are
not entirely lost and forgotten.

3. King of Prussia- Brownlie Rd House
(Demolished 3/2002)
Another great example of a vernacular building lost forever formerly
located along the Schuylkill River near King of Prussia, PA.
This house is just another victim of sprawl in a highly congested
area of Montgomery County.

4. Hatfield Township- (Demolished 3/2002)
Formerly located at the corner of Derstine & Elroy Rd, this circa
1850's building was torn down to make way for a new retirement
community. We traded a great old slate covered farmhouse for
vinyl-covered, cookie cutter boxes. Don't you love progress?
