Education and Community Awareness

Mike Hart, founder of the Foundation, periodically gives presentations to interested groups on historic preservation. He tells about his work and preservation ideals, he presents an architectural components display of hardware, latches, hinges, nails, door panels and house parts from different period houses, barns, mills etc. He discusses his experiences with dismantling local structures and explains his approaches to dating old buildings using architectural components. Usually there is a question and answer period for discovery. He presents a few "mystery components" for the audience to figure out and shows how restoration templates are created from some items that seem like they should be tossed.

As you can see, we are actively involved in education and community awareness. Please review some of our past accomplishments.
